Nikki serves as the indispensable Executive Director of the MSA, but she was first a member of the Board of Directors. At the time, she was already a successful business owner and whirlwind fundraiser. She had been diagnosed with MS and was now fundraising for the MS Society. When she and her family raised over $100,000 in their family-run events, the MSA tracked her down and invited her to join the Board as their fundraising director. What a smart move that was! Nikki quickly took an $8-9,000 yearly casino night fundraising event and helped turn it into a $40,000 affair!
This is Nikki's thirteenth year serving as the Board President. She cannot think of a better place to utilize her enormous talent and passion.

After completing his schooling at Westmont College and the University of Chicago, he joined Andersen Consulting in Los Angeles where he provided process-improvement guidance to companies in various industries. In 1997 new business opportunities drew him to Colorado Springs, where he established Oaktree Business Services to assist small businesses and nonprofits.
Shortly after meeting Nikki, Roger agreed to join the MSA Board as Financial Director for the organization. Roger has been in the roll of Secretary-Treasurer for MSA ever since.

Joining the Board in 2022, Patty is a retired physical therapist who was licensed in three states, and who practiced in Oregon, California and Colorado. She served clients in hospitals and rehabilitation clinics, and provided consultation services for home health agencies, long term care facilities and professional U.S. Triathletes. Her expertise in various neurological impairments in all age groups made her an ideal consultant for Easter Seals and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Patty previously taught Matter of Balance classes, Adaptive Physical Education programs in community colleges and provided physical therapy assessments at local health fairs.
For the past 2 years, Patty has hosted MSA’s weekly “PT with Patty” program. This popular series is presented over Zoom, allowing participants of all functional levels equal access to MS-specific exercises and self-care in the comfort of their own homes. Managing multiple sclerosis herself for 35 years, Patty is an invaluable addition to the Board.

Sheila comes to the MSA Board with a powerful background in administration on behalf of the military. Upon leaving the military she worked for various federal agencies with the remaining 12 years of service with the Defense Contract Management Agency. Sheila handled everything from monitoring, reconciliation and closeout of government contracts to the administration and oversight of Government property in contractor facilities around the United States. She has been involved in the surveillance of Government property, and the investigations that are conducted after Government property is lost, damaged, stolen or destroyed while in the possession of Government contractors. This work required her to obtain Secret level security clearance.
Throughout her career, Sheila has spent much of her time on the job training and mentoring those coming up beneath her. It’s no wonder that, in retirement, she chose to dedicate herself to helping others by joining the MSASOCO Board of Directors. In addition, Sheila was a Licensed Practical Nurse earlier in her career. This unusual balance of knowledge makes Sheila a tremendous asset to the Board.
