Gentle Somatic Chair Yoga
Premiering in January to rave reviews, Kaye Anderson's Gentle Somatic Chair Yoga classes are now offered twice a month on the second and third Wednesdays of the month. Under the guidance of Kaye Anderson or one of her trained volunteer assistants, participants are guided to listen to their own bodies and stretch only as far as it feels good. The goal is to release tension and let the mind reconnect with the body, resulting in better ease of movement and no post-workout aches. Kaye herself started practicing yoga at the age of 60 in order to help herself age more gracefully. She fully understands the natural resistance to movement the body accumulates with time, and she believes that patience, paired with persistence, is the only way to counter that resistance. The resulting classes are joyful and kind, and everyone at every level comes away feeling better. Join us and rediscover the abilities you have locked up in your core. Participants are encouraged to bring a dish towel or non-stretchy scarf to class as an exercise aid.
